In this relaxing 4K walking tour, we strolled through the eclectic neighbourhoods of Sai Wan, the bustling Hong Kong University area, and down to the picturesque Kennedy Town and Belcher Bay Promenade. It was one of those perfect days with fine weather—not too hot, not too chilly, and a clear blue sky above us.
The journey was both refreshing and adventurous as we wound our way up and down the paths that weave through this part of Hong Kong Island, navigating the hills and dipping back into the city’s vibrant energy. Sai Wan and Kennedy Town have always been a fascinating blend of old and new, where you can see traditional shops, street markets, and modern cafes all in the same walk. Fun fact: Sai Wan was one of the earliest areas developed by the British after they colonised Hong Kong in the 1800s, and it’s still a district full of historical charm.
As we ventured through the university area, we caught glimpses of iconic landmarks, bustling student life, and streets steeped in history. Then, heading down to Kennedy Town, we were greeted by the serene waterfront at Belcher Bay Promenade, where the peaceful views of the harbour offered a tranquil contrast to the busy city behind us.
This walk truly captures the essence of Hong Kong’s dynamic mix—vibrant urban life on one side, and the calming beauty of the harbour on the other. It’s the perfect route for anyone wanting to explore the diversity of this iconic city.
