🇫🇷Paris MARAIS 4th Arrondissement Rainy Walking Tour 4K Saint-Paul ➜Rue des rosiers ➜ Beaubourg

MARAIS, PARIS, FRANCE

Behind the scene

This walk through Le Marais unfolded in early autumn, with the sky shrouded in thick clouds and a light drizzle that added a moody ambiance to the streets. The damp air gave the city a different feel—calmer, with fewer crowds, and a hushed atmosphere broken only by the gentle sound of raindrops. We have a love-hate relationship with filming in the rain in Paris; while it adds a unique charm and atmosphere, it also brings its own set of challenges.

Our first stop was the iconic Rue des Rosiers. Usually bustling, it was quieter than usual, but that only made its charm stand out even more. The rain brought the cobblestone streets to life, making them glisten under the soft, gray light. Filming here, tucked under the umbrellas of Paris, felt more intimate and authentic despite the occasional splash of water on the lens.

We continued along Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie and onto Rue du Temple, where the rain-soaked stone buildings seemed to come alive in the mist. The quiet of these narrow streets felt almost cinematic, like walking through a scene in a Parisian film.

Our final stop was the interior of Saint-Merry Church. Stepping inside, we left the cool drizzle behind and were greeted by the serene stillness of this hidden gem. The church’s Gothic beauty felt even more striking against the backdrop of the wet, gray world outside. Its peaceful interior provided a perfect moment of reflection after our rainy but enchanting walk through one of Paris’s most historic districts.
