Trani—the picturesque Italian coastal gem that beckons with its tranquil waters and ancient stone streets. What you might not realise while watching our video is that this seemingly peaceful tour was filmed during a heatwave so intense, even the locals were retreating into the shade. Yet, there we were, armed with cameras and ambition, determined to capture the beauty of Trani for you. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, the first attempt at filming quickly turned into an exercise in, shall we say, humility. Under the blistering sun, our pace slowed, and it wasn’t long before we found ourselves quite literally melting onto Trani’s historic pavements. Between the sweat, heat-induced blunders, and a bit of heatstroke-induced delirium, it became clear that our footage, like our spirits, was a little frayed around the edges.

Determined to do this stunning town justice, we rallied for a second take—this time with a little more shade-hopping and strategic hydration. Think of it as an elegant tango with Trani’s sun, where we tried to dodge its rays while still capturing the Basilica Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta and the peaceful charm of the Porto di Trani. It became a bit of a game, really: stay cool while making Trani look effortlessly beautiful. Easier said than done.

We pushed through with a mix of trial and error, the odd water break, and the kind of determination only a true explorer possesses. What you see now is the polished version—a seamless journey through Trani’s cobblestone streets and historic wonders. You’d never guess the amount of sweat involved in producing such calm visuals!

But for those of you who revel in the messy magic of exploration, we’re toying with the idea of releasing the original version—complete with moments of pure wanderlust and the occasional scene where we fought valiantly against both the elements and our own sense of direction. It’s raw, unfiltered, and perhaps the realest version of what it’s like to discover a city under extreme conditions. 

So while the final cut you see is the polished product of perseverance, there’s a whole other story behind it—one filled with sweat, sunburns, and just a hint of heatstroke. But if Trani taught us anything, it’s that sometimes the most beautiful moments are the ones you really have to work (or sweat) for.
