Behind the Scenes

We purposely avoided Paris during the chaos of the Olympics and decided to return once the peak tourism wave had subsided. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Post-Olympics Paris felt like a breath of fresh air, quieter, calmer, and more pedestrian-friendly than ever. 

One of the standout changes was the new arrangement around the Eiffel Tower. The famous bridge was closed, and cars were banned between Trocadéro Square and the Eiffel Tower, opening up vast spaces for people to stroll freely. The walk was smooth and easy, allowing us to truly take in the classic charm of the city. Without the usual congestion, it felt like a whole new Paris—one that invited you to slow down and admire its beauty at every turn.

As we crossed the Debilly Footbridge, it struck us that this was the very spot where the drag queens' performance at the Olympic ceremony took place, which sparked international controversy. Walking there now, with nothing but the quiet sounds of the Seine below, the bridge held a different, more serene energy. The world may have reacted strongly to the bold performance, but here, it was just another stunning view, a peaceful bridge connecting the city’s vibrant past with its ever-evolving present.

We continued our walk from the 16th to the 8th arrondissement, enjoying the new pedestrian freedom and the timeless Parisian atmosphere.
